Late JULY is  the only time  to apply the nematode solution that will kill the grubs and larvae of the lawn-destroying European Chafer beetle . This all-natural, safe, organic living organism is invisible to our eyes, but seeks out and destroys only the larvae of this newly arrived pest.  It is relativelyexpensive… about 80.00 per kit.  A kit will treat 1000 square feet . This is about the size of an average front yard.  Try to  get your closest neighbours to also treat their property.  It is the soil-dwelling grubs that feed on the roots of lawn grass, especially fond of DRY and NEGLECTED lawns.  Sunny slopes are extra yummy. Constantly moist, well-groomed lawns are skipped over bythe flying mommy beetle bombers  if a crummy lawn is next door. So, take better care of your lawn if you were attacked last year.  The ravages of  grub-seeking crows are more expensive to repair than this preventative application .
