What was once ‘the front pasture’ is now kept neatly mown. A ‘buffer’ of ‘Hidcote Superior’ lavender and Calamagrostis ‘Karl Forster’ grasses blur into Nepeta ‘Walker’s Low’ and Helictotrichon sempervirens (‘Blue Oat Grass’) on a sunny slope. This makes mowing. the flat acres easier with a large tractor .
‘Hakonechloa macra ‘Allgold’ announces steps down to the garden. Hydrangea ‘Blushing Bride’ is a smaller grower, to only about three feet. The lavender-ish roses are a new introduction called ‘Koko Loco’. I love the brown tones that age to lavender of this rose. It blooms all season ,and is fragrant.
The driveway at our farm in Langley,B.C. – so worth the 45 minute drive to get here….
