Established in 1991, and located in a charming 'equestrian pocket' on Vancouver's upscale
westside, this unique area called Southlands is a horse friendly enclave right in the city.
Large lots and small acreages house many stables, and it is not unusual to see horses and their
riders go by our gates. With delicious free coffee always on hand, many people tell us that they
come down to the nursery just to experience the beautiful atmosphere.
We hope you will visit soon!

The only thing I love more than gardening is sharing that passion with others.
I've had the pleasure of writing 2 books and have been featured in a number of professional
horticultural and gardening magazines. For the past 16 years I've also worked in television on
GlobalBC's Saturday morning news 'Gardening with Thomas Hobbs' segments. The nursery has
been featured on virtually every gardening show including 'The Victory Garden', 'Martha Stewart'
and 'Recreating Eden'. We were even home to 'The Orchid Nazi' on the hit TV show The X Files!

Garden Antiques Have Arrived !

When we were in England last year, we made an effort to find some (sort of) affordable garden antiques. They just arrived ! We unpacked the 40′ container in just over a day.  wow – what a treasure trove ! On the first day of our trip,  we went to the Battersea Antiques Fair in  London ,bought nothing, but met a few dealers we liked. Quite a few of our new goodies came from Ireland and France as well. Many of the pieces are huge and heavy, I don’t expect them to fly off the shelves….

P1030624It will takes us a while to get everything priced and  displayed, but the jumble is fun to look at.

Brent was a wizard at opening up crates….here are two very heavy, very old marble urns that originated in France.P1030616

P1030632I am nuts about these French laundry tubs !! I have always wanted one (or four), ever since first seeing them in Anthropologie stores in the U.S. I cannot wait to plant a few with Olive trees this summer…..

P1030627A small zinc-topped ‘florist’s table’ was a must buy for me. It was in a fantastic antique shop in the Cotswolds area of England. One of my favourite aspects of running a garden centre is doing the displays. These pieces are going to be very inspiring ,just in time for the busy Spring season !

This cute cupboard originally came from Sweden. It is very unusual, with a non-functioning clock built into it. It was too beautiful to leave behind.
